Orlov trotter
The Trotteur Orlov is an equine race.
History
Created at the 18th century by the count Alexeï Orlov, this race of Trotteur is one of most famous in the world.Product in the goal to outclass the others, the " stud farm of ostrov" was founded near Moscow, by the count. This race is resulting from crossings of various horses imported by A. Orlov: a great number of standards Arab Thorough-bred S, in particular, but also of mares Dutch, Danish, English thoroughbred and Arabic.
Then, judging the " stud farm of Ostrov" in on this side its objectives, it went to settle in the area of Voronej in the south of Moscow. In 1778 was thus built there the stud farm of Khrenov where, after several crossings Bars I was born , which appeared excellent with trot and became thus the first descendant of a long line of Orlov.

Use
The Orlov is made for the trotting races harnessed. Horse shows are regularly organized in all the Russia and the adjoining countries (Communauté of the independent States). Each year, some champions of Orlov race come to run in France, on the Hippodrome of Vincennes.
