Orlando Solidify
Orlando Solidify , born in 1959 with London, is a British Historien, specialist in the Histoire of Russia and professor in Birkbeck College of London. It contributes regularly to the newspaper The Guardian and to the reviews London Review off Books and New York Review off Books .
Biography
Orlando Figes is the son of the feminist writer Eva Figes and brother of the editor Kate Figes. He studies the history with the Université of Cambridge, with the Gonville and Caius College of which he leaves major promotion in 1982. He is researcher in Cambridge of 1987 to 1999, year as from which he occupies the pulpit of history of Birkbeck College.Orlando Figes wrote many works on the history of Russia, which were a great success in the Anglo-Saxon world. One can in particular quote has People' S Tragedy: Russian Revolution 1891-1924 and Natasha' S Dance: In Farming History off Russia , books in which it combines qualities of historian and writer. Its work presents a style innovative Historiographique and is often attached to the cultural Histoire. has People' S Tragedy is regarded as a reference in the new school of the narrative history.
