Orlando Gibbons
Orlando Gibbons , baptized with Oxford the December 25th 1583 and died with Canterbury the June 5th 1625, is a Compositeur English.
Biography
In 1604, it is named organist with the Royal Chapelle. In 1623 he becomes organist with the Abbaye of Westminster to London. By its talents of instrumentalist, it was called the “best finger of its time”.
It is considered by its compositions of Chamber music (parts for Viole S, parts for Clavecin and Virginal) and by its works choral societies, of obedience only protesting E. He also wrote some profane vocal parts of which the cries of London .
Glenn Gould held Gibbons in very high regard and recorded a great number of its works.
