Geography
The
Orissa is bordered by bay of Bengal in the east, the new state of the
Jharkhand and the Western Bengal in north, the new state of
Chhattisgarh in the west and the
Andhra Pradesh in the south.
Economy
The
Orissa has 90% of the Indian chromium reserves, 70% of that of bauxite and 24% of those of coal.

One of the forms of ballet dancing of the
India, the
Odissi, is originating in Orissa.

Orissa underwent a cyclone which made 20.000 victims and killed 700.000 heads of cattle, damaged or uprooted 90.000.000 of trees, makes 20.000.000 homeless people, 5.000.000 of farmers lost their work and 1,2 million hectares of culture were devastated.
