Orion (Stargate)

The Orion is a vessel Ancien discovered in the episode 2x19 of Stargate Atlantis . Whereas the team of the colonel Sheppard must save the inhabitants of planet, threatened by a violent volcanic eruption which would destroy any form of life on the surface of planet, they discover a vessel of the Ancien type, preserved rather well. But the doctor Rodney McKay quickly realizes that the vessel is unable to fly away. Following an eruption of weak width, the Porte of the stars of planet is absorbed by the lava, and the team must use the Ancien vessel to run away itself. Sheppard will call it Orion (the original name was Hippaforalkus).

Orion is not really operational because a great number of its systems are out of use. But McKay works above, and Orion could quickly become an extremely powerful vessel, and a major asset in the war against the Wraiths.

Unfortunately, the vessel was destroyed during the first of season 3 of Stargate Atlantis. The vessel, with Deadelus, tried to stop two Hives Wraiths which was dirigaient towards the Milky Way. It in spite of very succeeded in destroying one of the two Wraiths vessels by drawing a salvo from approximately about fifty drones. But, because of its damages not-repaired, after having sent its weapons it could not reactivate its shields, from where its destruction.

Orion had apparently an intergalactic hyperpropulsion, a reserve of many drones, and one could see several guns of various types on various sites on the vessel.
