Oriana Fallaci
Oriana Fallaci was a Essayiste and Journaliste Italian born the June 29th 1929 with Florence and deceased the September 15th 2006 in the same city.
Career and biography
During the Second world war, Oriana Fallaci joint with resistance in spite of its youth, in the democratic group armed Giustizia E Libertà .His/her father, Edoardo Fallaci, cabinetmaker with Florence, were a political activist fighting to put a term at the fascistic dictatorship of Benito Mussolini. It is at this period that Oriana Fallaci was exposed to the atrocities of the war.
Fallaci began its career from journalist at the 17 years age, becoming in 1950 special correspondent for the newspaper It mattino dell' Italia power station .
Since 1967, she worked as corresponding of war to the Vietnam, for the indo-Pakistani war, with the the Middle East and in South America. During years, Fallaci was special correspondent near the political news magazine Europeo and wrote for several important newspapers whose Corriere beyond Will be like for the magazine Epoca .
She interviewed many Heads of State and international personalities such as Henry Kissinger, the Shah of Iran, the Ayatollah Khomeini, Willy Brandt, Lech Wałęsa, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Ariel Sharon, Walter Cronkite, the colonel Kadhafi, Federico Fellini, Sammy Davis Jr, Nguyen CAD Ky, Yasser Arafat, Indira Gandhi, Alexandros Panagoulis, the archbishop Makarios III, Golda Meir, Nguyen Van Thieu, Haile Selassie and Sean Connery.

Fallaci received twice the Saint-Vincent price of journalism, as well as the Bancarella price in 1971 for the life, the war and then nothing , the Viareggio price in 1979 for a man , the Antibes price in 1993 for Inchallah . It obtained its arts doctorate with the Columbia College of Chicago.
She taught at the university of Chicago, of Yale, Harvard and Columbia.
Whereas it had begun its career in the laic press of left, the journalist was at the end of his life brought to the right-hand side and the Catholic church. Being defined as " an atheist chrétienne" , it was with Giuliano Ferrara one of the great figures of the " Atheistic excessively pious people " , an Italian intellectual movement which shares with the Catholic church the report of a vital need for Europe to join again with its Christian roots.

Controversies
These last years, Oriana Fallaci received a detailed media attention because of its critical sharp of Islam. She was particularly criticized by Muslim organizations and left parties, in particular in France.After the Attacks of September 11th, 2001, it adopts a very firm position against Islam. Its point of view is specified in two tests, the Rage and Pride and the Force of the reason .
Another journalist of reputation of Florence, Tiziano Terzani, expresses his reserves with respect to the approach of Oriana Fallaci in an open letter published in the daily newspaper Corriere beyond Will be .
Critics often affirm that the books of Oriana Fallaci are purely polemical, egocentric people, based on racist stereotypes, xenophobes, islamophobes and for a great part of their contents. Oriana Fallaci was the subject of criminal prosecutions in Suisse for discriminatory remarks with regard to the Moslems; the federal office of justice (OFJ) had taken in November 2002 the Italy to continue it.
