Orgyen Trinley Dorje (born the June 26th 1985) is recognized by the 14th Dalaï Lama and 3 of her 4 regents like the 17th Karmapa, directing school Karma Kagyu of the Bouddhisme Tibetan.
The June 7th 1992, the 14th Dalaï Lama recognized officially Orgyen Trinley Dorje like 17th Karmapa. The June 27th 1992, is 20 days later, the Chinese authorities also recognized it, acceptor thus the choice of the 14th Dalaï Lama. Orgyen Trinley Dorje was led to the monastery of Tsourphou, seat traditional of the Karmapa S, close to Lhassa and the September 27th of this same year, it was established there by Taï Sitou Rinpoché and Gyaltsab Rinpoché. Number 3 in the religious hierarchy Tibetan with the Dalaï Lama and the Panchen LAMA, the 17th Karmapa is the only LAMA réincarné to be recognized at the same time by the Chinese Dalaï Lama and Government. However, with the wire of time, the heavy constraints imposed by the Chinese administration appeared a major hurdle with its formation.
Also, at 14 years, made it the courageous decision to flee its country. 17th Karmapa planned its escape from the Tibet controlled by China. The resolution of 17th Karmapa became firmer whereas it was not authorized to see its tutor, Taï Sitou Rinpoché, and that in 1998 an attempted murder on its person is suggested after the discovery of two Chinese intruders equipped with knives and explosives to the monastery of Tsourphou. In December 1999, with some companions chosen, it courageously undertook the crossing of the Himalayas which, at the price of good of difficulties and dangers, were going to carry out it to the residence of the Dalaï Lama, in the north of India, with Dharamsala. On arrival of the 17th Karmapa, the January 5th 2000, the Dalaï Lama declared that " there was no other alternative" ; he added " I think that the day of our return with a certain degree of freedom to Tibet will come. I think that I will carry out that during my vie". The 17th Karmapa expressed its wish to remain in India. He in particular declared " the Buddhist Teaching most important is the compassion, but to try to practice it, one must be libre". It wish that with the inspiration of the Dalaï Lama, " the whole of the people of Tibet will be soon able to gain its liberté". Tashi Wangdi, Minister for the Religion and the Culture of the Government Tibetan in exile had explained why the 17th Karmapa was very anxious by the erosion of the culture Tibetan to Lhassa: " he wants to really work with the cultural development and monk of the people, but is very anxious by repression concerning the religious activities and the dilution deliberated on the culture Tibetan by the autorités". The majority of the large Masters of the Bouddhisme Tibetan were constrained to exile Tibet because of absence of freedom and the totalitarian policy which prevails there, as we recalled the escape from the 17th Karmapa the day before the year 2000.
In India, the 17th Karmapa found refuge and, since, it receives the Lesson of the Large Masters Tibetans in India. It receives the visit of disciples of the whole world, gives already lesson, and written poems. In 2007, it always resides at the monastery of Gyuto to Sidhbari close to Dharamsala where it support in particular the construction of a hospital.

Born in l´année from that which is employed with the ground under the miraculous sound and yet very far from the white conch, it is famous to be Karmapa.
Dealt with by the lord Of Yeun Droub, without sectarianism, it penetrates all the directions.
He is the impartial guard of the beings, he is the sun of the lesson of the Winners which blazes continuously for the good d´autrui."
Large a Tertön, Chogyur Lingpa, visiting the monastery of Nagchen to l´Est of the Tibet, had Padmasambhava the prophetic vision of the 21 incarnations of the Karmapa. Here how it describes its vision of the 17th Karmapa:
" In the field (of the vision) in front of the mountains, there are rocks and pines, and 17th of the rosary of the incarnations, accompanied by Khentin Taï Sitou Rinpoché, their spirits amalgamated in one. That means that the sheets and the petals of the lesson of the Bouddha will open out (thanks to l unity of their spirits) and that there will be many fruits of the gasoline even of the transmission of Gampopa. "
If Orgyen Trinley Dorje could meet Taï Sitou Rinpoché with the Tibet, it has to notice that in this description, the landscape is connected with the monastery Shérab Ling, seat of Taï Sitou Rinpoché in India.
Lastly, a prophecy of 5th Karmapa describes the difficulties which will occur of the time of the 16 and 17th Karmapa (see Deshin Shekpa).
In France, the Buddhist centers founded by Kalou Rinpoché in the Eighties are related to 17th Karmapa Orgyen Trinley Dorje. It is for example the case of Kagyu-Dzong in Paris, of Vajradhara-Ling in Normandy, the Temple of the thousand Buddhas (Dashang Kagyu Ling) in Burgundy, of Karmaling in Savoy, Kagyu Rintchen Tcheu Ling with Montpellier and of the Jardin of Dharma very good close to Aix-en-Provence.
