Founded the 8 September 1993, with Fès, in Morocco, the Organization of the cities of the world heritage (OVPM) joins together 203 cities having on their territory a site registered by UNESCO in the Liste of the world heritage. These cities are distributed as follows: 7 in Africa, 36 in Latin America and the Caribbean, 20 in Asia and peaceful, 120 in Europe and America of north and 20 in the Arab Countries. Moreover, the OVPM currently counts 4 observant members.

The head office of the organization is located in the Ville of Quebec, capital of Quebec.
