Oreo
Oreo is the registered trademark of a Cookie in sandwich, produced by Nabisco, very popular in North America and with the Portugal. The current form is a white and soft trimming known as “cream”, wedged between two round cookies with the chocolate.
Since their creation, more than 490 billion Oreos were sold, which makes of Oreo cookie more sold 20th century.
Oreos were introduced mainly on the English market by Nabisco in February 1912, Nabisco regarding existing British cookies as too " ordinaires". In the beginning, Oreos had a higher form and existed in two perfumes: meringue with the lemon and cream . They were sold the 30 hundred 500 grams in small boxes with the transparent lid, which made it possible to the consumer to see the cookies.
A new design appeared in 1916, and the trimming with the cream being by far more the appraisal of two savors, Nabisco stopped the production of savor meringue to lemon in the Twenties. Oreo such as there exists today was developed in 1952 by William has Turnier, in order to introduce the Nabisco logo.
There are several theories concerning the origin of the name " Oreo" , like that of a derivation of the word " Or" (because the first packagings were gilded), or the Greek word " Oreo" who means " montagne" or " colline" (first Oreo having this same form). Other theories claim that the letter " re" word cream were in sandwich between the two " o" word chocolate , or that this name simply seemed to be a pretty combination of sounds.

As the modern form of Oreo makes it possible to eat it various ways, the opinions differ as for the best way of proceeding. Whereas some eat the cookie such as it is, others like the " désassembler". Oreo can thus be soaked in milk. The Oreo official site recommends to detach it while making turn two cookies, to lick the cream and to soak remaining cookies in milk.
