Oregon Country
The Oregon Country (to be distinguished from the current State American of the Oregon) or simply Oregon is a term which refers to a Western area of the North America including/understanding the territories included/understood of north in the south between the latitudes 42° and 54°40' and of is in west between the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific. This territory is now burst between the Canadian province of British Columbia, the entirety of the American Contracting States of the Oregon, Washington and the Idaho, and of the Montana and the Wyoming. The area corresponds coarsely to the current North-American definition of the the North-western Pacific. However the term was also used for simply describing at the beginning of the Federal government of the United States the zone disputed in this area with the British Empire until the Traité of Oregon in 1846, but this restrictive definition is hardly any more used today. The British name are equivalent for most of this territory is the Columbia District , the north of the river Thompson River was him integrated into the New Caledonia District which extended considerably more to north of the parallel 54°40' NR.
