Ordinary meadows
the ordinary meadows are a publisher created in 2005 by Rémy Toulouse, which falls under the movement of reactivation of the independent edition committed, perceptible in France since the years 1990 (with in particular the creation of the editions Agone, the Argument, the Factory).
Presentation
The ordinary meadows were initially announced by the launching of Counterpoints, an original collection of talks to the long course with certain figures of research, the literature and the edition (Arlette Farge, Veronique Nahoum-Bunch, Eric Hazan, Pierre Bergounioux).
The ordinary meadows then proposed with their assistantship tests of more traditional form at the borders of the theory and the policy (Mathieu Potte-Bonneville, Philippe Artières, Jeanne Favret-Saada, Pascal Michon).
More recently (autumn 2007), the ordinary meadows launched, under the direction of François Cusset, Penser/Croiser, a collection of short texts in translation of foreign, in particular anglophone critical theorists, or not translated little into French (Wendy Brown, Stanley Fish, Fredric Jameson).
The books published by the ordinary meadows, all confused collections, are characterized by the singular and original style from their model.
The books of the ordinary Meadows are diffused and distributed in bookstore by the Beautiful Letters.
