the Orders is the second film of fiction carried out by Michel Brault. It approaches employment by the Gouvernement of Canada of the Loi of measurements of war during the Crise of October 1970 with the Quebec. It was presented in first world to Montreal in 1974, hardly four years after these big events of the history of Quebec.
This film made on a realistic tone will be worth in Brault the Price of the setting in scene to the Cannes festival 1975. It also collected four prices with the Canadian Film Awards (the ancestor of the Prix Genius) the same year.
In October 1970, following the claims and terrorist acts of the Face of release of Quebec (FLQ), the Canadian government adopts the Loi of measurements of war to restore the law and the order. This measurement will lead to the arbitrary arrest of approximately 500 people, against whom no charge will be carried. The film follows five fictitious characters during this episode of the Québécois history.
