The the Council of the French language of the Quebec, become the Superior council of the French language since October 1st 2002, instituted the Ordre of the French-speaking people of America , the July 3rd 1978, at the same time as the Prix of 3-July-1608. This distinction, decreed annually, has the aim of recognizing the merits of people who devote themselves to the maintenance and the blooming of the language of French America.
