Orchhâ
Orchhâ is a small town of the Uttar Pradesh which was the capital of the princely state of the same name. The city is with ten kilometers in the south of Jhansi on a plate surrounded by small mountains thus forming an easily justifiable site.

History of the principality
It is small the rajâ Rûdra Pratâp (1501 - 1531) which starts the urban development by building a palate and a bridge spanning the Betwâ, an affluent of the Yamunâ which crosses the plate of Orchhâ. This work was completed by its successor Bharti Chand (1531 - 1554).One of its leaders, the rajâ Bîr Singh Déo (1605 - 1627) took the party of prince Salîm, the future Jahângîr revolted against his/her father Akbar, which ensured, following the accession with the capacity of the first, its position of sovereign on the area.
Orchhâ remained capital until in 1783 when the Bundelâ moved it in Tikamgarh.

Remarkable monuments on the site
- the Jahangir Mahal , a palate built by Bir Singh Deo in the honor of the Jahangir emperor, who came in visit in Orchhâ in 1606 and used it only once.
- the Raj Mahal does not build the third rajâ Madhukar Shâh (1554 - 1578), which was demolishes by Akbar and exiled until its death in 1592.
