Orchestrades universal

The universal Orchestrades are a musical meeting of orchestras of young people, as well French as foreign. They join together each year, in the month of August to Brive-the-Strapping woman (Corrèze, France), a few hundreds of musicians (old from 10 to 25 years) of the whole world framed by BAFA and lodged in boarding school in a college of Brive. This demonstration was creates in 1984 on the initiative of the SOJE: company of the orchestras of young Europeans.

For a few years the number of musicians has fallen but remained important (superior with 200). The record having been in 1993 exceeding the 1100 musicians and singers. What was worth to him the entry in the book of the records in the " category; demonstration of music classique". Moreover, for a few years the musicians have been able inscrirent themselves into individual: of them-same. They arrive then a day before and integrate one of the orchestras created for the occasion: " Creation of a été". There are three alternatives:

Eole corresponding to the orchestras of harmony and accommodating the instrumentalists with winds and percussions
Pizzicatti corresponding to the string orchestras which accommodate the instrumentalists with cords
Sinfonia corresponding to the symphony orchestras

Each day, the musicians give free concerts in great historical places of Brive, in the streets, and a concert the evening joins together two orchestras. All these concerts free and some of them are decentralized in the Country of Brive. But during the ten days, the musicians repeat and prepare also the final concert.

Indeed, at the conclusion of the festival, the young musicians meet in a gigantic orchestra. The market Georges Brassens of Brive, especially arranged for this exceptional circumstance, offers a plate of 1000 m ² for a recorded and filmed concert which attracts each year more than three miles spectators. For this unique opportunity, a contemporary creation, ordered by the State, is interpreted. Marcel Landowski, Alain Louvier, Small Jacques, Claude-Henry Joubert, Jacques Carpenter, Gerard Calvi, Michel Dovecote, Jean-François Zygel, Serge Madness, Yoshihisa Will conceal, Denis Badault, Henry Foures, Piotr Moss, Bruno Regnier, Régis Campo created thus for Orchestrades of specific works for full orchestras.

Classical music, contemporary, traditional, crowned, rock'n'roll, ethnic, jazz, electronics… Orchestrades accommodate all the musics. Among all the played musics, only one work is taken again each year (since 1998): the Anthem of the town of Brive " The sachet of or" composed by Serge Madness.

The pieces which will be played at the time of the final concert are revealed after the beginning of the festival, so that the musicians carry out a challenge: to assemble a programme of concert in a few days. The challenge is double for the orchestras " creation of a été" who assemble a second program presented at the end of one week.
