Orbiting

The orbiting , in the field of the Astronautics, is the action to print with a Space engine a periodic movement around a Astre of dominating Masse so that it becomes an Artificial satellite about it.

Orbiting also indicates the fact of becoming the satellite of a star. Thus, the pronominal form “to put into orbit itself” means “to become the satellite of a star”.

The corresponding terms in English are orbitation and satellization .

In the case of a circular orbit the speed of orbiting is given by the formula:

v = \ sqrt {\ frac {GM} {R}}

Where G is the gravitational Constante universal (6,6742×10-11 m3·kg-1·s-2), M mass of planet, and R the ray of the orbit.
