The interannual medium flow or module of the river at this place is of 23,7 m ³ a second.

Orb present of the seasonal fluctuations of flow rather important, with risings of winter carrying the average monthly flow on a level located between 29 and 41 m ³ a second, from November to April included (maximum in January), and of low waters of summer from June to September, with a fall of the monthly medium flow up to 5,3 m ³ in August.

With the low water levels, the VCN3 can fall until 1,4 m ³, in the event of dry period quinquennial, which is not too severe. The VCN3 is the past minimal quantity or minimal flow over three days consecutive.

In addition the risings are sometimes extremely important thus generating serious floods. The QIX 2 or calculated flow of biennial rising and QIX 5 (calculated flow of quinquennial rising) are worth 630 and 1  respectively; 000 m ³. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is of 1  300 m ³ a second, while the QIX 20 is worth 1  600 m ³. As for the QIX 50, it is of 1  900 m ³ (see note), that is to say more than that from the Seine in Alfortville (entered from Paris) which is assembled only to 1  600 m ³ a second.

The recorded maximum instantaneous flow was of 1  630 m ³ a second on December 5th, 1987, while the value maximum day laborer was of 1  430 m ³ a second the same day, that is to say more than the medium flow of the Rhone with Valence. By comparing the first of these figures with the scale of the QIX of the river, one notes that this rising was of a vicennial nature, i.e. intended to reproduce statistically every twenty years.

The Lame of water past in the basin of Orb is of 563 millimetres annually, which is high, definitely higher than the overall average of France. The specific flow (or Qsp) is assembled at 17,8 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
