Oraliens
Oraliens was an emission of the educational television of the Quebec, produced between 1969 and 1970 and diffused during part of this decade. The stories turned around two tiny extraterrestrial which discovered, like the children, the world which surrounds them. Each Oralien carried a uniform of space pilot orange monopièce, decorated reinforcements with the articulations, of vaguely futuristic style, but without pants. Orange low-breeches with the legs, their feet were covered only by small slippers oranges. The face was with-half covered by a mask amalgamated with a hat pointing out the shape of an orange mushroom….
The original intention of the emission was a training of the French, intended for the children of the first cycle of the primary education. Our two extraterrestrial used a special capacity to influence the situations which occurred to them, during the history of the day. In order to activate this Force, the Magic of the Word , Oraliens stated, of a supported tone, the witty remark for the situation, which they then asked the children in class to repeat all together.
To the wire of the episodes, the two intersidereal visitors of the planet Oralie, Kalinelle (played by Smoothing iron Anfousse) and Picabo (played by Hubert Gagnon), bound of friendship with Francolin, sympatique living Earth. Among the other main characters, one finds the bird speaking Couac (a puppet doubled by Gaétane Laniel), the mechanical dog and omniscient computer Millimagino and a stowaway of their spaceship, Furotte (played by André Cartier), vêtu of a mottled orange léotard of green
Oraliens , unlike the other educational emission of Radio-Quebec intended for the children of the first cycle the 100 turns of Centour , insisted of advantage on the word right and the suitable pronunciation that on the construction of sentences. The emission also used the bad example: Furotte, one of these other Oraliens “which did not include/understand”, always marmonnait in an incomprehensible way and never arrived to nothing in its plans against our good Oraliens friends.
• It should be noted that this series, very educational is it, could not be diffused today with children of the primary education level, because of some scenes of violence and certain topics approached. The episode on the articles of smoker in is a particularly convincing case… •
