Optimus precedes

Optimus precedes is a character of the series Transformers. It is present in almost all these series, including in Animutants, or it makes a short appearance. He is the heroic leader of the Autobots and undoubtedly the most famous character of the series (with its sworn enemy, Mégatron).

History

The history is not always the same one according to the series, but he is always the chief of the Autobots, and fights his alter ego Mégatron /Galvatron. Perhaps to add with the relationship between the two characters, the film presents them as being brothers. Here some of the known stories:

Transformers Series of original animation

In the original series, Optimus premium ordered the group of Autobots present at edge of the " Arche" , vessel of Autobot exploration. The vessel was attacked by Decepticans in the course of road, and was crushed on the Earth. All the robots on board, Autobots like Decepticans, were plunged in a kind of coma by the shock of the crash landing. Meadows of 4 million years later, the computer of the Arch, Télétran one, were reactivated following an earthquake, and undertaken to rebuild Decepticans. Once those rebuilt, Starscream made an awkwardness while drawing on the Arch, starting an earthquake which sent Optimus precedes in the zone of rebuilding and allowed Télétran one to also rebuild it, like all Autobots. Thus on Earth the fight between the two factions started again.

Note: it is this version which is included in Animutants, although this series proceeds with prehistory, when the transformers contained in the Arch were not awaked yet.

Transformers (film)

The film presents a version seriously different from that of the original series, but not less interesting. In this version, Optimus precedes and Mégatron are actually brothers, one thus supposes that they were at the beginning in good relationship. Alas, following the discovery of a arctefact to the sufficient power to create whole universes, Allspark, Mégatron and Decepticons betrayed Autobots, and a war was started. This war devastated any Cybertron, and the large majority of the transformers, Autobots like Decepticons, were killed. For the roof, Allspark was lost in space. The survivors, directed always separately by Optimus precedes and Mégatron, left then to research the object, the first to rebuild Cybertron and the seconds to be recreated a new army intended most probably for the conquète of the galaxy (although that is not really specified). Their research brought them to the Earth, or Mégatron was crushed in the ices and was frozen. It was then the turn of other Decepticons to arrive, then finally of Autobots, which joined human Sam Witwicky. Optimus premium could see the human ones, and quickly learned how to like them. After the destruction of Allspark, which was used to eliminate Mégatron, Optimus precedes and its Autobots decided to remain on Earth, or the human ones were from now on their new friends.

Character

If the history of Optimus precedes exchange according to the versions, its character remains on the other hand always the same one: it courageous, right, understanding, wise, peaceful and is respected by its warriors. Its currency, quoted in film, is “Any sensitive being is entitled to freedom. ” It defends the human ones as much as Autobots. It is perhaps the character most emphasized in the saga.
