Optical Neuromyélite
The Neuromyélite optical, so known like the disease of Devic , the sclerosis optics-spinal , the amaurotic leuconévraxite or the neuropticomyélite is a syndrome associating an attack of the Optical nerve and Spinal-cord. It is an auto-immune disease a long time confused with a particular form of multiple sclerosis and that one can now be due to the presence of autoantibody anti Aquaporine 4.
It associates an optical neuritis acute and an acute myelite transverse.
He was discovered for Eugene Devic. This eponymy was proposed in 1907 by Acchiote after Fernand Gault devoted his thesis to this subject in 1894.
