Posterior area of the body of the Arachnida (specific to the phylum of Arachnida) resulting from the fusion of the mésosome and the Métasome. Recognizes itself by the fact that the opisthosome does not carry any appendix, in opposition to the Prosome. It is named abdomen in the spiders.
