Opera of Lyon
The opera of Lyon , known as sometimes the New opera , is a room of opera located close to the town hall of Lyon, and sheltering an affected room of representations mainly to the national Opéra of Lyon which made there represent opera S, Ballet S and Concert S.
History
With the current site of the opera drew up formerly the theater of Soufflot. It was replaced in 1829 by the opera, thanks to the architects Antoine-Marie Chenavard and Jean-Marie Pollet.It was renovated in the years 1990 by the architect Jean Nouvel, who preserved only the walls of circumference and the living room of the first stage. The interior reconciles the modern one (omnipresence of the black, favorite color of J. New) and the old one (the traditional shape of the theater to Italian).
The amphitheater , in basement, regularly accommodates small concerts and conferences in an environment plus intimist.
The coffee of the peristyle , in frontage of the opera (vis-a-vis the town hall of Lyon, on the place of the comedy ) accommodates groups of jazz the evenings of summer.
