Open of Canada
The Open of the Canada , at present active as being the Cut Rogers , is a tournament of female Tennis of the circuit Professionnel WTA which takes place each year with the Stade Jarry of Montreal and with the Rexall Center Toronto. In alternation, the cities receive the women of WTA and the men of ATP Tour for the Masters Series of Tennis of Canada, also named Coupe Rogers. The men play in Montreal the odd years and Toronto the even years. Contrary, the women play in Toronto the odd years and Montreal the even years.
Test amateur created in 1892, the competition becomes Open as of 1968.
Since 1982, it is held with Montreal (with the Stade Jarry) and with Toronto.
In all the cases, the competition is held in August, at a few weeks of the US Open.
With four successes each one, Chris Evert and Monica Seles hold there the record of victories into simple, the latter having connected them consecutively 1995 with 1998.
