OpenJPEG opens with the numerical cinema!

Version 1.2 left in June 2007. OpenJPEG is now capable of encoder and to decode flows JPEG 2000 compatible with JPEG Profiles-3 (images 2K) and Profiles-4 (images 4K). These profiles correspond to standard DCI for the numerical cinema. The support of files tiff files is now complete including 8,12 and 16 bits by component.

The functionalities under development are, inter alia, the decoding of formats JP2 and MJ2 (Motion JPEG 2000), and a tool for indexing, useful for the protocol JPIP.

Implementation of compression without-loss for the images 16 bits

Contrary To marble, OpenJPEG entirely respects the specifications JPEG 2000 and can compress/decompress the images 16 bits without loss.
