Open-Xchange is a software collaboratif waiter (or Groupware) which makes it possible its users to store, organize and share appointment, contacts, tasks, email, bonds, documents and more.

The waiter is accessible via any navigator modern Web and of many heavy customers such as Kontact, Novell Evolution, Konqueror, Mozilla Calendar and Outlook Express only as regards the directory via LDAP or IMAP for the emails, the groupware remaining for the moment usable via a Navigateur Web or Microsoft Outlook. It also supports Microsoft Outlook via Outlook OXtender, a Plugin for the Outlook customer who allows him to interact with the Open-Xchange waiter as if it were about a Microsoft Exchange Server --thus allowing the use of public files and other functions of collaboration normally only accessible to the users from products Microsoft. Other extensions allow synchronizations with the waiter by using protocols Internet standards, including WebDAV (XML), LDAP, ICal, HTTP (S), smtp, IMAP, POP3, and SyncML.

Open-Xchange is a Free software and Open source. The waiter part is published under license GNU LPG. On the other hand, the interface is under license Creative Commons 2.5, Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike.
