The Vectra S are cars of the segment m2 produced by General Motors under the marks Opel and Vauxhall (For the the United Kingdom). There exist three generations of Vectra: Vectra has starting from 1988, Vectra B since end 1995 and Vectra C since 2002.
The version with engine 1,8 L 16V (X18XE) only appears in France at the beginning of 1998, this model existed since 1996 in Germany.
In 1999 appears the restylée version of Vectra B with the appearance of new engines, the grill changes, front lights and back also change, the instrument panel, the spoiler… The second generation of will vectra B will be equipped with new diesels ecotec conceived by opel. One 2,0 DTI of 100ch, known for its strong oil consumption (appeared on the first generation of will vectra B), one 2,2 DTI in 120ch version (7CV) and 125ch (8cv). All these diesel engines have a cylinder head with 16 valves.
With its launching, the version 4 doors and the version 5 doors are distinct models. The version 5 doors, baptized Vectra GTS - Great Tourism Sport - profits from a frame sport lowered of 20mm, modifications of the body (bottom of the black headlights, parechocs before and modified backs, becquet back, rims of 17" …) and of additional equipment of series (ESP, stealing 3 branches sport…). A version 5 doors " classique" will be launched thereafter and it is the restylage which has occurred into 2005 which will mark the end of Vectra GTS as a model with whole share, name GTS disappearing with the profit from a new completion Cosmo Sport.
A resolutely sporting version appears in 2005, Vectra OPC, motorized by an engine V6 2.8Turbo of 255ch . The model 2007 should as for him see its power passing to 280ch in order to dissociate his/her little sister Astra OPC which develops 240ch.
