The oomycètes ( Oomycota or Oomycetes ) represent a phylum of Protiste S filamentous including/understanding approximately 500 species. They were formerly classified in the Mastigomycotina (now Chytridiomycota , since the separation of the Mastigomycota ), among the Champignon S, with which they share certain a number of characters (filamentous cells: Hypha S, absence of chlorophyl, nutrition on organic matter,…) ; but they also have deep divergences with the Mycètes (cellulose wall, cores diploïdes). They are now classified among the biflagellées Chromista because of presence of zoospores and the use of Laminarine like substance of reserve.

Several species are the pathogenic major ones of plants, certain species parasitize animals.
