Oolon is a character of the Manga Dragon Ball .
It is small a Cochon which has the faculty of Métamorphose R in the creature which it wishes for a short period. It is inspired by the character of the Voyage in Occident Zhu Bajie, “the Pig with the Eight Wishes”. In Mandarin, Oolong or Wulong (烏龍) means “black Dragon”, and also indicates the the same name.
History
At the beginning of the history, it is equipped in red Garde and it uses its capacity of Métamorphe to kidnap the young girls of a village and to lock up them in its residence, by taking the appearance of a Monstre. But Its Gokû and Bulma intervene to return their freedom to these victims, and Oolon, when he discovers the great force of Gokû, is acknowledged overcome. This meeting is beneficial for him since thereafter, it ceases its perfidious activities and decides (more or less constrained by a trick of Bulma, initially) to accompany them in their search by the Dragon Balls.
Some time later, Its Gokû, Bulma and Oolon make the meeting of Yamcha and Pooal. Oolon and this last are recognized because they were together in the school where they learned how to be metamorphosed, but they were not friendly at the time. Whereas Pooal is able to change for one indefinite length of time, Oolon, which stays not a serious pupil, did not learn how to be metamorphosed perfectly, and of the blow it is unable to change more than 5 minutes of sharpened and must each time await 1 minute before being able to use his capacity again. However, Oolon and Pooal become friendly thereafter, when they must link their forces to overcome Pilaf.
In the continuation of the history, Oolon remains most of the time at Kamé Sennin. It is a weak and timorous character, who constitutes a comic element of the Narration without taking share with the engagements.
