Onychomycose

A onychomycose is a Mycose Ongle S, foot or hands. This infection is caused by mushrooms which develop on the nail and destroy it.

It is a current pathology (for example, approximately 5% of the French population would be reached) increasing with the age, more than 40% of more than 70 years would be touched and in continuous increase.

It is caused by various types of microscopic mushrooms (Dermatophyte S, Levure S, Moisissure S) which proliferate in the hot places, wet and dark like the closed shoes. These mushrooms nourish Kératine which composes the nails. The mushroom in question is generally of the family of the dermatophytes (in particular the Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton interdigital ).

The nails most often reached are those of large and the little toe.

The diagnosis is clinical but must be confirmed by a taking away of the nail for mycologic examination.

This type of infection cures seldom spontaneously without treatment and with rather tendency to worsen, infected surfaces increasing with the wire of the temps.
She is seldom regarded a true health issue but rather as an esthetic problem of order.
