Direction Ontario is a French-speaking company of tourist promotion of the province of the Ontario, with the Canada.

Mandate

Its mandate is to develop the tourist Guide French-speaking for Ontario and to imply themselves in the provincial initiatives which contribute to the tourist French development. It aims at the marketing of tourism in Ontario to the Quebec and in the French-speaking markets and takes care of research as with the development. He in particular seeks to optimize the social and economic impact tourism on the Ontarian communities.

History

In June 2001, is created tourist l association Northern Destination of Ontario , which concentrates with the development and the promotion of French tourism in the North of Ontario. Jusqu´en 2004, it develops various circuits of Motoneige and tourist guides, it takes part in various living rooms of the consumer and publishes historical newspapers.

In winter 2004, the first and only guide of tourist resources of French Ontario, “French Ontario” (114 pages) is lance, thanks to the financial participation of FedNor (arranges Canada Industry) and Société of Ontarian partnership of tourist marketing . Following L´année, one second edition will be published, then a third in May 2006

In parallel, L May 19th, 2004 is officially open the Circuit Champlain, which follows the traces of the Father of News-France to Ontario. Samuel de Champlain explored the river of the French and the Georgienne bay in 1615.

In October 2006, Northern Destination of Ontario becomes Direction Ontario .
