Onomastics
The onomastic (of the Greek onoma , name) is the science of the etymology proper names. Even if one often associates it with the study names of anybody, it gathers in fact the study of the Anthroponymie (names of people) and of the Toponymie (place names).
In Egyptology, onomastics is a science as complex as essential. Indeed, it makes it possible to allot an object or a monument to such or such person. But the task of the Egyptologists is made quite difficult by the multiplication of the titulatures of the Pharaon S (five names of crowning!).
