Ongaonga

The ongaonga ( Urtica ferox ) is a shrubby Ortie which pushes only in New Zealand on the island of North and in the east of the island of the South, it meets in low altitude and in the coastal forests. It can measure 3 m height. Irritant hairs (5 mm) decorate the stems, the veins and the circumference of the sheets. They contain Acétylcholine, Histamine S, and Sérotonine).

It is the feeder plant of the Vanessa gonerilla .
