Onfroy Ier de Toron

Onfroy Ier of Strand , of origin Norman, appears for the first time in 1115 vassal like of Josselin de Courtenay, prince de Tibériade; the castle of Strand being built since the year 1105, he was probably the lord since this date after having taken part in the First crusade.

Of an unknown wife, it had Onfroy II of Strand.

Onfroy de Toron is certainly a Normand of Italy perhaps related to the Norman family of Hauteville established in Italy of the South, one of its descendants declaring itself, at the 15th century, resulting from Tancrède de Hauteville, while the family mythology gave itself a Danish origin , i.e. Viking.
