Synopsis
Phil Connors is presenter weather, pretentious and imbu of itself, on a regional television channel of Pittsburgh. February 2nd, it leaves in report at the time of the Jour the marmot. But once the turned subject, a blizzard forces it to spend the night on the spot. The following day, the same day starts again, as well as the following days (forty-three repetitions are mentioned): Phil seems blocked in time…
Comment
On a subject nicely original flirtant with the fantastic one, One day without end proposes one of the American comedies most outstanding of these last decades, thanks to an exploitation meticulous person of its starting postulate, declining all the aspects of the comedy, of burlesque with humor, comic of repetition to the perpetual surprise, the whole forming a whole of variations from which metaphysics is never very distant. Worship for some, the film has a structure and a quality of treatment which enable him to be re-examined several times.

Around film
- the distributer seemed to put little hope in this film. It left in rooms to the United States in the month February 1993, one of the hollowest periods of the year (even if she approaches the time of film!) and at the end of July in France, which was at the time the period of lower frequentation and less annual exposure. The film however held the lasting summer in Paris thanks to good criticisms and the word of mount and finished a honourable career of exclusiveness to the autumn.
- Although the intrigue of film proceeds almost entirely with Punxsutawney (Pennsylvania), turning actually took place with Woodstock (Illinois).
- the town of Punxsutawney is also that of the film Planqué in spite of him of John Ford.
