Ondřej Pavelec (born the August 31st 1987 with Kladno in Czechoslovakia today town of Czech Republic) is a professional goalkeeper of Hockey.

Career

Career junior

He begins his career while playing in 2003-04 for HC Kladno, club of his birthplace which evolves/moves in the first division less than 18 years. The following season, always with Kladno, he plays in the first division of less than 20 years and also plays a match of the Czech 1.liga , the second senior division, for the team of the HK Lev Slaný. He has an average of boxed goals of 2,22 and 2,30 goals by matches at the time of these two seasons.

At the time of the fishing out of entry in the National league of hockey of 2005, it is chosen by the Thrashers of Atlanta as a 41e player (second round). It is also selected to play with the Screaming Eagles of Cape-Breton the of the Ligue of hockey major junior of Quebec and at the conclusion of its first season, it gains many trophies in the LHJMQ: the Cut the RDS of best the recruit all confused stations and the Trophy Raymond Lagacé of the best defensive recruit. With 2,51 goals boxed by matches, it also gains the Trophée Jacques Plante for the goalkeeper with the best average. It is also selected in the standard team of the recruits and that of the season all players confused.

At the time of the second season in the LHJMQ, it still obtains a very weak average of boxed goals (2,52) and gains once again the trophy Jacques Plante and the selection in the first standard team of the season.

Professional path

In 2007, it signs its first professional contract with Thrashers even if it is affected with the Wolves of Chicago of the American Ligue of hockey. After two matches played with Chicago and whereas Thrashers carry out a bad beginning of the season, Kari Lehtonen is put on the list of the wounded players and Pavelec is called at the sides of Johan Hedberg.

International career

He plays for the team of Czech Republic less than 18 years in 2005 and finishes in the fourth place. He also plays the Championnat of the world junior of hockey 2007 with one 5th place with the classification.
