Omphale

In the Greek Mythology, Omphale , whose déifié name means sometimes navel of the world, centers, angular stone, keystone, messenger of the gods, bond in the ground and the sky is the " fille" river Iardanus, became the wife of god of the mountains, Tmolos (king of Lydie), then queen in her turn when this last was encorné.

Myth

Hermaphrodite noticed among the people for his beauty and its intelligence, it is called Aristodème (better of the people). Héraclès, while travelling, stopped in this princess and was so enthusiast of its beauty which he forgot his value and his exploits to deliver to the pleasures love.

One finds it represented thus on old monuments. Héraclès had of Omphale a many descent of which a son named Agésilas, from where one reduces Crésus.

Malis was also liked of Héraclès during the slavery of this hero at the court of Omphale. It was one of following of this princess.
