Omoto Kyo

Omoto Kyo (大本教) is a Japanese Secte founded in 1892 by Nao Deguchi, on the worship of the god Konjin (it tends however towards a recognition of the kami S ). The most charismatic leader was the son-in-law of Nao, the eccentric Deguchi Onisaburo. Since 2001, the sect is directed Kurenai Deguchi (the 5th leader of its history).

Of 1925 until in 1933, the sect sent missionaries in Europe to recruit followers by saying that Deguchi Inisaburo would be the Messiah who would unify the world.

The sect recognizes other gods like Ookunitokotachi, Ushitora and Hitsujisaru. The sect considers also Ludwik Lejzer Zamenhof, the founder of Esperanto like God. However all these gods would be different the aspects from only one.

The most known sympathizer of the sect is the founder of the Aïkido, Morihei Ueshiba.

The two principal religious complexes of the sect are Baisho with Ayabe and Ten' one-kyo with Kameoka.
