Ombelle
The ombelle is a simple Inflorescence in which the floral Pédoncule S all are inserted into the same point of the Tige, and the Fleur S all are laid out on the same spherical surface, or sometimes planes. It is to some extent a Corymbe in which the axis condensed in a point.
It is the typical inflorescence of the Ombellifère S (or Apiacée S), but one meets it in other families (example: the Ivy).
In the majority of ombelles, the oldest flowers are those of the periphery (equivalent to those of the base in a Grappe). It is said that their development is Centripète.
At the base of ombelle often a Involucre forming is a kind of flange. It is formed by the whole of the floral Bractée S.
In certain ombelles, the central flower is particular, for example at the Carotte, it is dark crimson whereas the others are white.
Often the ombelles ones are made up of ombellules which reproduces the same organization. It is generally the case at Ombellifères.
