Quotations
-
My Philosophie of the Vie is very easy to retain: when you leave on your premise, it is necessary to be ready to like everyone
- I am somebody of nice and I am interested in people more than with anything else. It is perhaps due to the fact that I was born in a country, the Egypt, where there are the most beautiful ruins of the world, the most beautiful stones, the Temple S, the pyramid S… Blow, when I am some share, I am diverted museums to go towards people. It is undoubtedly for this reason that I chose to be an actor: to speak with all and sundry inspires to me.
- David Lean was like my father! I was like his son. He adored me: I had spent twenty month with him for Lawrence of Arabia
- the play arrived because of the life that I carried out. I unloaded in a city, I did not know anybody, even not people with whom I turned. An assistant deposited me with the hotel. Where did you want that I go? I was alone, then I was going to dine with the casino on the hotel because there is light and that one can only dine in a casino without being ridiculous. Obviously, I passed there the evening and I drew a chart. In any event, I mistake the money. As soon as I have some, I spend it. On the other hand, when I do not have any, I of insane. Instead of eating in a three-star restaurant, I go to the brewery of to side, I take a sandwich ham butters with a beer, and I am very content.
- I was intimate with Jacques Prévert, a man whom I adored. He had the cig with the nozzle and always spoke about bottom. Whereas he had written so beautiful things
- After Lawrence of Arabia, I played in And came the day from the revenge on Fred Zinnemann Francisco with Gregory Peck and Anthony Quinn, on the Guerre of Spain. Certainly my best role. Unfortunately, the film did not go. Then I turned for Sidney Lumet with Anouk Aimée. Presented to the Cannes festival in 1968, return It hooted itself. Then, there was the Riders John Frankenheimer. But it was never the best film of the realizer. After four or five failures, I had died. As I had enormous expenses, I accepted anything. That disgusted me, because I am unfortunately enough intelligent not to like the silly thing
