Om̐ or aum is a crowned Syllabe sanskrite meeting in several religions: the Hindouisme, the Buddhism, the Jaïnisme, the Sikhisme, and the Brahmanism. It is named also udgitha or pranava will mantra (“will mantra paramount”, the word prana also meaning “vital vibration”).
Om̐ comes from the fusion of the letters of the Sanskrit has, U and Mr.
- has represents the beginning, the birth, and the creative god Brahma.
- U represents the continuation, the life, and the god Vishnu.
- M represents the end, death, and the destroying god Shiva.
The pronunciation of om̐ is supposed to be done in a specific way: has emerges from the bottom of the throat, towards the palate, U rolls on the Langue and m finishes on the Lèvre S. has symbolizes the awakening, U , the Rêve, m , the Sommeil. This syllable is regarded as the sound original, paramount, which would have created the Univers. It would be the nap and the Substance of all the words which can emanate from the throat of the man. It is also a symbol of the absolute Univers.
Aum Iti Ek Akshara Brahman : Aum, this single syllable is the Brahmanism. The near total of the will mantras bouddists start with Om̐, so much so that it became a Symbole Buddhism.
In the Hindouisme
Om (or Aum, ॐ) one of the symbols is the most crowned hindouism: it is used as prefix and sometimes suffix with the Mantra S and with any Hindu prayer. It is filled up of a major message symbolic system: he is regarded as the divine primitive vibration of the Universe which represents any existence, surrounding any nature in an Ultimate Truth.Thus, the sound, product in a prolonged way, result of the combination of three sounds A-U-M (of the triad to the unit), mean “what was, is and will be” , and have, for those which is dedicated to the meditation, an at the same time magic and religious force. A Upanishad affirms: “As all the sheets threaded on a stem agglomerate which crosses them, in the same way any word is melted in its OM. Its OM is all this universe. ”.
