Olympic stadium of Montreal
The Olympic stadium of Montreal (English: Olympic Stadium) is a stage located in Olympic Parc of Montreal being at Montreal in the formed quadrilateral of the streets Sherbrooke, Viau, Pierre de Coubertin and Pie IX.

History
The December 4th 1969, the mayor of Montreal, Jean Flag, announces officially the candidature of Montreal for the presentation of the Olympic Games of summer of 1976. In order to facilitate the direction and to accelerate the progress of the work, the building site is divided into six cells, each one having at its head an engineer responsible for a section for the building site. They are the six following cells: sector Stage, sector Cycle-racing track, sector mast-swimming pools, sector Viau parking, sector parking Magpie-IX and sector temporary installations. Two months after the catch in hand of the building site by RIO, one witnesses an acceleration of the rate of work, a harmony reigns on the building site and the productivity increases.
The building site deals with many problems because of the complexity of the structures, the innovation of the methods of construction and the engineering problems not expected thus that the discovery of the fissured ground. The price of steel was fixed by the American producers at 200 dollars the ton at the beginning, it passed to 900 dollars in six months and when one started to work with the Olympic stadium, steel cost 1.200 dollars the ton.
The April 7th, one removes the cranes and heavy equipment of the center of the stage to allow the installation of the grass and the installation of the track of athletics. The May 10th, the two display boards and one the third of the seats are installed in the stage and the lawn is installed. The July 9th, the building work of the stage is finished, except for external installations.
