Olympic Museum

The museum Olympique of Lausanne (Swiss) was inaugurated the June 23rd 1993. It is located on the heights of the quay of Ouchy at the edge of the Lac Léman. It shelters permanent and temporary exposures around the sport and of the Olympic movement . It is surrounded by an exposing park of many works of art having like topic the Sport.

This one was founded under the impulse of Juan Antonio Samaranch which had set creation at Lausanne of a museum and a center of Olympic study. It is the second museum more visited Suisse.

The Architecte S of the museum were Pedro Ramirez Vazquez and Jean-Pierre Cahen for outside, and Miguel Espinet for the interior. The architectural style of the building is of a traditional modernism . Its simple and purified lines are as timeless as possible, but of many symbols the spirit and the origin of the Olympic Games recall.
