The Olympiakós Pirée (In Greek: Ολυμπιακός Σύνδεσμος Φιλάθλων Πειραιώς - Olympiakos Syndesmos Filathlon Peiraios) is a Greek club general sports based with the Pirée and including/understanding a section Football of foreground. This article relates to this section football; to see Olympiakós (basketball) for the section Basketball, and Olympiakos (volley ball) for the section Volley ball.
The football team is often called familiarly Thrylos (" Légende" in Greek).
Its supporters is recruited traditionally in the working class, in Pirée and in the islands (from where its traditional competition with the Panathinaikos, regarded as the club of the easy classes of Athens).
In 1981,21 of its fans died crushed in the stage following a sway in the crowd in the staircase of Door 7 (Spoils 7, θύρα 7) remained closed by error. This tragedy is commemorated each year, and the supporters refer very often there.
