Ololiuqui ( ololiuhqui or ololiúqui ) indicates the Graine S various Plante S of the family of the Volubilis whose properties Enthéogène S are in the center of a ritual use in Central America.
The preparation varies according to the ethnos groups. It contains seeds of Ipomoea tricolor ( badoh negro for Zapotèques) and/or of seeds of Rivea corymbosa ( badoh for Zapotèques).
The authors generally differentiate the ololiuqui from the tlitliltzin by associating only one of the plants with the one of the names, thus it is current to see seeds of Ipomoea tricolor associated with the tlitliltzin and those of Rivea corymbosa with the ololiuqui.
Rivea corymbosa has several synonyms: Ipomoea sidaefolia , Harnessed corymbosa .
According to certain authors, Ipomoea purpurea is also used and rather associated with the tlitliltzin .
This consumption, considered as Hérétique, was persecuted by the Église and was pushed towards a kind of clandestinity which had been discovered that tardily by the botanists or and the ethnologists.
