Ollie
A ollie is a figure of Skateboard. It is about a jump, carried out with the board, without the hands.
History
The ollie was invented by Alan " Ollie" Gelfand, in 1978, on the Slope S of which he was follower. The ollie was practiced in slope until 1981, when Rodney Mullen entered the first ollie on dish (in flat ).Consequently, the skateboarders started to be played of the obstacles of the street much more easily. Indeed, hitherto, they were to jump in Boneless, a technique much more perilous.
Physical principle
The physical principle is rather simple: it is a question of making take off before board (the nose ) of the ground, then to make swivel the board around its Center of gravity to make take off the back (the tail ). To raise the nose , nothing simpler: it is enough to defer the weight of the body on the back of the board. To make assemble the tail is a more technical operation: the front foot must slip towards the nose, along the board, involving this one in its movement thanks to the grip (adherent surface recovering the skateboard), then to support slightly to the bottom, so that the pivot around the center of gravity takes place.A way of entering a ollie higher and more easily bases on the third law of Newton (law of the action and the reaction). This easy way consists, at the time of the first phase of the technique, to lower the tail to the ground. If the force is exerted suitably, the force of reaction resulting from the ground will make " literally; rebondir" the tail, making it rise beacoup more easily. This easy way is not essential, but enormously facilitates the realization of many tricks. To make claquer the back of its board in order to make it rebound invites " popper ".
Note: speed is not necessary to carry out a ollie. This one can even be done with the stop. Indeed, only the technique and the reaction of the ground hope to make take off the board. However, it is sometimes easier of popper when one is moving.
Alternatives
There exist alternatives of the ollie: by typing the nose board ( Nollie ), while rolling " in switch" - with the reversed feet - ( switch ollie or ollie switch ), or while rolling to back ( fakie ollie ).This technique makes it possible to jump rather high. The records height are located around the equivalent of ten boards piled up for the ollie (the world records is however held by " Danny Wainright " has a height of 44.5 inch what means height from approximately 1 meter and 13 cm), and hardly less for the nollie.
