Olivier Magne

Olivier Magne is a former player of Rugby, born the April 11th 1973 with Aurillac (Cantal in Auvergne). Evolving/moving at the station of third line wing, it be international during more than ten years. Olivier Magne is trainer of the CA Brive after two days of the season 2007-08.

It was consulting for the chain of sporting information the Team TV and TV5 during the World cup 2007. It is called Charly (word game with Charlemagne).

Biography

1973-1992

Born on April 11th, 1973 with Aurillac, Olivier Magne is interested as of 6 years in Rugby under the push of his 2 older brothers. Impassioned ski, it decides to give up Rugby for this sport. In spite of 5 years (from 12 to 17 years) last with the sport-studies of Mont Blanc, it does not succeed in boring. It then decides to be registered with the sport-studies Rugby of Ussel, where it will meet Pierre Pérez. Fundamental meeting because it is besides this same man who selected it later 6 months in school team of France to play against Scotland.

1992-1997 Dax

In 1992 it joined the club of Dax, where it will meet Marion, the sister of Richard Dourthe (international of Rugby of 1995 to 2001) and girl of Claude Dourthe (international of Rugby of 1966 to 1974), which will become his wife. As of its first season it will gain with its team the championship of France Junior and will be victorious Mediterranean Jeux and international with 7. The following year (as in 1996) the team will reach the semi-finals of the championship of France.

1997-1999 Brive

Nevertheless, wearied by the lack of means and of structures of its club it will join Brive in 1997, club with which it will reach the final of the cut of Europe.

At this same time, it will make a success of for its first selections in team of France a Latin cut (1997) and large Slams in 1997, 1998.

1999-2005 Clermont-Ferrand

Disappointed by the lack of success of the club, it decides to join the large club of Montferrand in 1999. This same year it will arrive with the team of France finally of the world cup after a superb victory against the All blacks, the team will fail nevertheless against the Wallabies.

Unfortunately, in spite of the successes of the previous years it loses confidence in him and, unfortunately its play with, testifies the finale to it to the championship lost against Toulouse.

With the team of France it will nevertheless gain the large slam of the Tournoi of the six nations in 2002, but will fail in 2003 in semi-final of world cup against the fifteen of the pink (England) which will become world champion.

2005- London Irish

Semi-finalist of the championship of England, on May 14th, 2006;

Finalist of the European challenge, on May 21st, 2006.

2007- Brive

After having been a had a presentiment of time with Dax, it joined finally CA Brive eight years after in being party. Wounded with a toe, it cannot begin the season. It then puts a term at its career in November 2007 and becomes trainer of the club to replace Richard Crespy after two defeats at the time of the two first matches of the season.
