Olivier Genoud (born in 1962 with Geneva) is an artist Suisse.
Olivier Genoud is interested in the signs associated with the “commodification” with our daily universe. Its recent work borrows images from catalogs of mail-order selling. The artist points in particular the capacity of the latter to multiply the formal variations starting from objects with the functions however clearly circumscribed.
" … Olivier Genoud who exposes (too much) little and does not deviate of the concerns which are them his for a long time, but by starting again them by other skews. He which, it there has many years, worked starting from the catalog Ikea like repertory of the shape in kit and metaphor of the case of loan-with-thinking standardized, always estimates that there are already enough images in our world without adding some of other. it is thus a question of working on the " catalog" what exists. But by giving all freedoms to seek, in the assembly of their disparities even, of the interesting and singular correlations which give again a coherence with the hybrid. Like totems of times present…. (Francoise Jaunin 2006) "
