Olivier Dassault , Political man French, born on June 1st 1951 with Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine). It is wire of Serge Dassault and thus grandson of Marcel Dassault.

Formation

Engineer of the Flying school (1974), Olivier Dassault followed a scientific and economic formation. He is titular of a DEA mathematics of the decision and of a doctorate of business computing.

Community activities

With the death of Marcel Dassault, in 1986, his/her father, Serge Dassault, names it director-assistant of Europe Falcon Service and director of the strategy of the civil aircrafts of the Dassault Aviation Company. It is moreover president de Dassault Communication, president of the board of trustees of the Valmonde press group ( the Spectacle of the World , Current values , Jours of Hunting ) and of the board of trustees of the Journal of Finances . It is also, since the entry of the Dassault group in Le Figaro (2004), administrator of Socpresse.

Policy

After a first experiment as an adviser of Paris (1977/1989), Olivier Dassault conquers the first district of Oise in 1988. This district, that of his/her grandfather until in 1986, should have been gained in 1988 by the socialist mayor of Beauvais (1977/2001) Walter Amsallem vis-a-vis the former substitute for Marcel Dassault, because ballot papers of the socialist candidate are cancelled in an abusive way. The election is thus invalidated by the Constitutional council. Olivier Dassault stands as then candidate for the RPR and is elected. Re-elected appointed in 1993, with the first turn, Olivier Dassault in 1997 by the Socialist Yves Rome is beaten.

Starting from the election of 1988 it tries a local political career in the Oise and the Beauvaisis with the support of the owner of the right-hand side in the department Jean-François Mancel. Success is mitigated and the rather confused course.

Chief candidate of the right-hand side to the municipal elections of Beauvais in 1989 and 1995, it is beaten twice by Walter Amsallem. Head of file of the opposition to the municipal council, his election of 1995 is invalidated for going beyond of its expenses of countryside in 1996.

It is in parallel the departmental chief candidate to the regional elections of 1992. He becomes first vice-president of the District council of Picardy. He however quickly gives up the District council to be candidate, in 1994 at the time of an partial cantonal election, at the general advice of the Oise (Canton of Beauvais-North-Is) of 1994 to 1998. In 1998, still under the shock of its failure to legislative of 1997, it is not represented and its canton is gained by the 1st assistant of Walter Amsallem, the Socialist Henri Bonan. This abandonment is reproached to him in its political own family and in 2001 it is Caroline Cayeux which is preferred to him like chief candidate to the local elections, that it gains. However in 2002 Olivier Dassault tries a return at the time of the legislative ones and, after having eliminated Caroline Cayeux with the first turn, finds its seat of deputy of the 1st district of Oise the June 16th 2002. He knows however a new failure in 2004 with the cantonal ones. June 17th, 2007, he very largely is re-elected appointed of Oise with more than 58,6% of the voices vis-a-vis the President of the General advice of Oise, his rival eternal, Yves Rome. He belongs to the group UMP with the National Assembly. With the National Assembly, he is Member of the Commission of finances. Special protractor of the budget of the foreign trade of March 1993 in May 1997, he is today special protractor of the budget of the Culture, for XIIe legislature.

Member of Parliament named on mission by the Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin (March-October 1994), Olivier Dassault is the author of two studies. In direct connection with this work, Olivier Dassault will submit a report on industry to Jacques Chirac, then candidate with the presidential election. He chairs, of 1995 to 1997, the parliamentary Joint committee on the communication. On its return to the Parliament, as of July 2002, it founds, with Jean-Michel Fourgous and Herve Novelli, the Group of parliamentary study “Generation undertaken”.

Parallel to his parliamentary work, Olivier Dassault was national delegate of RPR in charge with universalization and the foreign trade. He is in particular, the author of “White paper on the foreign trade of France” (1991) and a synthesis for the Association of the friends of Jacques Chirac entitled universalization, an asset in our hand in April 2000. Founder of the club “Partnership France”, with Yves Galland, then Minister for the foreign trade, charged to help French SME with export, he is honorary president since 1996.

Néo-conservative, it is favorable to the re-establishment of the capital punishment.

Musics and photographs

He has for hobbies the musical composition and photography. One owes him of many film original musics, but also the realization of short films and advertizing films. Pioneer in Europe of the sound emblem, it imagined the identity of many communities or companies, and put in music several festivals or celebrations (fireworks of the Year 2000 in Paris, inauguration of the Vulcania Park…).

He published eight works of photography and took part in many exposures. After Between Ground and Sky , it signed, in November 2002, a work, heading the Fifth dimension , a “numerical epopee” of about fifty photographs orchestrated by a musical work.

He is pilot professional IFR since 1975: Co-recordman of the world speed with Herve the Prince-Ringuet - in 1977 of New York to Paris on Falcon 50 and in 1987 of the New-Orleans in Paris on Falcon 900 - and with Guy Mitaux-Maurourad and Patrick Experton - in 1996 on Falcon 900 EX of Paris with Abou Dabi and of Paris with Singapore - he is the only pilot qualified on the totality of the range of business aircrafts Falcon.
