Company Italy founded by Camillo Olivetti in 1908 with Ivrée.

Under the aegis of the Olivetti family, the company became one of the world leaders in the manufacture of typewriters mechanical, then electric.

The son of Camillo, Adriano Olivetti developed the company until his death in 1960.

The company then developed in the Informatique.

It was one of the greatest multinationals of the peninsula, until its reconversion in the Télécommunications at the beginning of the Années 1990.

Indeed, the world data-processing crisis involved doors Restructuration S of its industrial tools (which had employed until 20  000 collaborators in the area of Ivrée).

In 1999, Olivetti launched a tender offer on the national operator Telecom Italia, becoming thus the largest operator of telecommunication of the peninsula.
