Olga Prekrasa
Olga Prekrasa (? - 969) was married with the Large-Duke Igor Ier of Kiev (912 - 945), gave rise to Sviatoslav Suitislaus I {{er}}, said " Sviatoslav Igorovich Conquérant" (942? - 972) (Prince de Kiev of swears into 945, de facto in 964). Her husband having been assassinated by members of the tribe of the Drevlianes during a collection of taxes, it is by avenging it that it inaugurated its regency. Baptized at the time of a voyage to Constantinople towards 957, it was the holy first woman of its country, celebrated the July 11th (July 24th according to the Gregorian Calendrier).
Once major, Sviatoslav, remained pagan, let his/her mother continue to control while it launched out in ambitious conquests, mainly with the detriment of the Khazars and Bulgares of the the Volga. It had to recall it to Kiev in 968 to release the capital besieged by the Petchenègues. Sviatoslav set out again in shift only after the death of his/her mother the next year.
Sainte Olga is also known like the grandmother of Saint Vladimir of Kiev, first Christian Large-Duke, evangelist of Russia.
